Oleg Kumagin was born in 1964 and still lives in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. During his years at Nizhny Novgorod Pedagogical University, he pursued his passion for combining natural, rare stones with oil-on-canvas. He continues to develop his unique style; self-christened Art Stones, his unique blending of stones and oil on canvas. His technique begins with a pointed selection and careful placement of the stones onto a canvas. Many of the stones are native to Russia. Then, to emphasizethe unique beauty of the stones and to convey hisartistic message,he applies a palette of colors to the canvas.The end result is a synergy of stones and oil; a combined effect greater than the energy of the stones and the grandeur of the colors.
