January 25 at the Literary Museum. Gorky (Minina, 26), the ArtStones exhibition opens. This was announced by the organizers.
ArtStones is a new trend in contemporary art, which is a combination of paint and stone on canvas. The drawing technique takes place in two stages. The first is to select the desired gem plate and stick it to the canvas. The second is the application of the composition with paint. Basically, the style of primitivism is used in the works. This allows the paints to show the beauty of the gem, and the stone to reveal the artistic intent deeper.
The author of the works, Oleg Kumagin, has been fond of natural stones in Russia since his student years. Unique shades of gems inspired the artist to create an unusual symbiosis of stone and oil.
The exhibition will feature over 30 unique exhibits, collaborations and installations. Part of the exposition was presented at the April Gems and Jewelry Design Show in New Jersey (USA), where it was highly appreciated by participants and experts.
The exhibition will run until February 25.
